New Beginnings / by Brett Holman

After 4253 miles of driving and 17 days of travel I've arrived in Bend, Oregon. I'm really fortunate to have Elizabeth Stuart in the passenger seat now.  We've spent the last year planning and putting ourselves in the best situations possible before leaving Michigan in search of new beginnings. We both agree that this was the best decision for the both of us. We are just starting to get into the groove of traveling and exploring our options again. It feels particularly sweet to be sitting in a coffee shop with unlimited possibilities and a small amount nervousness. That feeling of insecurity that makes us feel alive again.

As usual, I've met some inspirational people along the way. Tim Middleton was one of them. He is a passionate traveler who recently found residency in Lone Pine, California after 8 years of vagabond style travel. Even after traveling in the Andes Mountains in South America, Middleton is still amazed at the freedom, accessibility, and scenic beauty that the California Owens Valley offers.

May 2014 be filled with maximum grins and dreams obtained!
