I went into the Paradise Post "headquarters" to help diagnose a camera problem for my old editor today. I was a photographer for the Post many years ago. It was pretty sad to see what was once a bustling news office of many people in many different departments was down to just a couple do-it-all news folks. It's been surreal to be part of this huge shift in the business of photojournalism. I remember when I left the newspaper business the future seemed pretty bleak, but it really hit home today. I always feel fortunate for being able to maintain a certain level of passion towards the work where the only real return is the feeling of personal satisfaction.
