The reason I followed the path and lifestyle of photography is because I enjoyed going on trips with my friends and documenting the stories that we were living. It seems like more and more professional photographers are finally admitting that they rarely make money on the stuff they really want to be shooting. The business of photography tends to lead most photographers astray. The reality of the business of photography is a frustrating dilemma between making a living and staying true to yourself. Sometimes it's best to take a step back and focus on making pictures that mean something to you. The reason I'm still passionate about photography and the lifestyle is because I always ask myself if I'm making the pictures I want to make. I found myself going astray last year and it feels good to have left a corporate photography job that lacked creative freedom and overall trust.
