A couple years ago I started going through the process of becoming a railroad engineer. Although it was a short-lived experience, my love for the railroad has never diminished. I've spent a lot of time on the tracks and it's one of my all-time favorite places to look for interesting photographs. I took this image tonight and it made my heart pump because it developed so quickly. I saw the train coming so I had to anticipate and envision an image in my head. I veered off the side of the road, jumped out of my van and ran to the only place that I knew I could make an interesting image. Trains don't come by regularly so I felt lucky to run into the situation. I took 8 frames and watched the train fade off into the sunset. Trains are cool. It's as simple as that.
